The Kate Vanloo Memorial run is an annual run to remember Kate Vanloo and all other club members who have been part of the club but have lost their lives, including Anna, Nigel, Julie and Rob.
Kate was a special member of our club who tragically lost her life in 2016 - she was a club member, a friend, a coach, a committee member and an inspiration to many. She believed in triathlon for all and influenced a great many people to take part in triathlon, always selflessly celebrating club members’ achievements and being a role model for us all. The memorial run is our way of allowing Kate to continue to celebrate and remember everyone in our family.
Kate was a regular volunteer at Daventry Parkrun, so this is why we use Daventry park run as part of our memorial run.
Our annual Kate Vanloo Memorial Run is scheduled for the 6th of January 2024.
This year, the run will be 7.5-8 miles starting from Welton.
Start: The White Horse, High Street, Welton
Leaving Welton at 08:10am, running approximately 2.5 miles to Daventry parkrun, doing parkrun and then running back to the start for breakfast.
Options also to run parkrun only, parkrun and breakfast, or just join us for breakfast. Just let us know so we know who to expect.
And don't forget to wear your orange and blue kit 🧡💙🧡
